BERNARD platform overview showing how products, Control Center, Data Center, a custom MQTT broker, and the traffic light controller work together

BERNARD platform overview

  1. Control Center: Fleet management for your devices. Configure, monitor, and update your devices, receive monitoring alerts, and manage users and licences.
  2. Products: Video and event processing take place in the products on site. Using AI, they detect and classify road users and generate an event whenever a configured trigger fires. BMA, BMA TLC, and BMA Mobile have an integrated camera, while BCA and B401 process IP camera streams (RTSP). The B401 can process multiple camera streams at once.
  3. Data Center: Highly reliable and scalable. The Data Center receives events via MQTT, processes them, and stores events and surveys in a database for up to five years, depending on the licence. Analyse counting, parking, and traffic-flow surveys in dashboards, export them to Excel, or retrieve the data through the API.
  4. Custom MQTT broker: Devices can also send live events to an MQTT broker that you operate. Your own applications process the events based on the documented event schema. See Data transmission.
  5. Traffic light controller: For adaptive traffic control, devices send switching signals to the traffic light controller in real time via BMC, Quido, or the XKOPMV protocol. See IO connection.
