Parking – Overview

The Parking module in the Data Center supports two survey types:

  • Entry/exit balancing: Vehicles are detected at entrances and exits. The current occupancy is derived from entries and exits. Large parking areas can be covered with a few BMAs. Ideal for parking areas with defined entry/exit points. This variant requires automatic and manual calibration, as deviations otherwise accumulate over time.
  • Single-space detection (analysis of each space state): Each parking space is monitored individually using configured Regions of Interest (ROIs) and shown as free or occupied. Ideal for open parking areas or for identifying free spaces for e-mobility, for example. No calibration is required.
Method Typical Use Cases Calibration Number of BMA/cameras
Entry/exit balancing Parking garages, barrier-controlled parking automatic + manual required Few, all entrances/exits must be covered
Single-space detection Open parking areas, guidance systems for individual spaces not required High, coverage of all monitored spaces via BMA/camera

Both methods can be configured and analyzed in the Data Center and can also be combined.
