2. Drilling of a second hole

A hole is drilled underneath the camera, where the cable gland with seal is then screwed in place. The cable is fed through the pole to the ground at this point. At the other end of the cable is the appropriate plug (2 or 3-pin) for the BMA

Pole-mounted battery (optional)

1. Positioning the battery

There is a cover in the lower section of the light pole. This can be opened with a special key to get the battery inside the pole. The power supply with plug or terminal strip should also be located here.

2. Connecting the battery

There is a two-pin plug on the battery that is used to charge the battery and a two-pin cable that is used to power the camera. If a terminal strip is available instead of a connector strip, the connector can be disconnected and the cables can be clamped directly into the terminal strip.

Configure LTE with your SIM card

When you install your own SIM card, you must adapt the LTE APN settings so the modem can register in the mobile network.

Prepare your SIM card

  • Disable the SIM PIN before inserting the SIM card into the LTE stick.
  • Enable roaming if the system will be used outside your domestic network.

Remove the LTE stick and SIM

  1. Make sure the BMA is powered off before you open the housing.
  2. Open the device cover, then unplug the LTE stick from the USB port.
  3. Slide the LTE stick cover downward to remove it.
  4. Eject the existing SIM card (if any) and insert your new micro- or nano-SIM card into the dedicated slot.

Update the APN settings

  1. Connect the LTE module to a PC and open http://192.168.8.1 in a browser.
  2. Sign in with the default password SIM12345 and change it right away for security.
  3. Turn off LTE, then open Settings → LTE settings → APN.
  4. Enter the APN details supplied by your network operator and set the profile as default.
  5. Turn LTE back on to apply the changes.

Configure the APN profile

Verify the connection

  1. Ensure the LTE module is connected and shows a solid green or blue LED to indicate signal.
  2. Disconnect the PC from any other network by disabling Wi-Fi and unplugging any network cable.
  3. Browse to a public website to confirm the SIM and APN configuration allow data transfer.

Troubleshooting

  • LED blinking green or blue: The modem is registered but no data session is active. Reopen the APN settings and verify the profile details are correct for your provider.
